Study lensRead the main scale and aligned vernier division confidently.
Try this
Use Guided plus the Foundation question set first, then switch to Challenge or Test with the Exam set once your accuracy is steady.
Learn to
- Read the main scale and aligned vernier division confidently.
- Convert scale readings into a corrected value in cm.
- Check precision quickly under exam-style pressure.

Governing idea
Reading = main-scale value just before the vernier zero + coincident vernier division × least count.
Model boundary
The scale is ideally aligned and sharply readable. Real calipers also require a zero-error check, gentle jaw contact, and a line-of-sight check for parallax.
Avoid this trap
Read the main scale at the vernier zero, not at the coincident vernier mark. The coincident mark supplies only the fractional part.
How to explore
Build fast, accurate caliper readings with guided checks and instant scoring.
Predict the outcome, change one variable at a time, then interpret the result. Completion records participation only and does not award mastery.
