1. A car travelling at 70 km/hr slows down to 50 km/hr in 30 minutes. What is its acceleration?
2. A car travels 9 km southwards, followed by 5 km northwards. What is the magnitude of its distance and displacement?
3. A car is brought to rest in 5 seconds from a speed of $10 \text{ ms}^{-1}$. What is the average deceleration of the car?
4. A train travelling at an average speed of 60 km/hr comes to a complete stop in 20 minutes' time. What is its deceleration?
5. A ball is thrown vertically upwards off a cliff at a speed of $23 \, \text{m s}^{-1} $. It falls to the bottom of the cliff after 10 seconds. What is the height of the cliff? $ \left( g = 10 \, \text{m s}^{-2} \right) $
6. A car travels 9 km southwards, followed by 5 km eastwards. What is its southward displacement?
7. A car accelerates from $12 \, \text{m s}^{-1} $ to $2 \, \text{m s}^{-1} $ over a period of 5 seconds. What is its acceleration?
8. A bicycle was travelling at $20 \, \text{m} \, \text{s}^{-1} $  when it applied its brakes and decelerated at a rate of $5 \, \text{m}/\text{s}^{2}$.

(a) How long will it take before it comes to a stop? (b) How far will it travel before stopping?
9. A ball which is thrown vertically upwards at $1.2 \text{ m s}^{-1}$ decelerates uniformly at $10 \text{ m s}^{-2}$. How long will it take to reach zero velocity?
10. A car accelerates from $3 \, \text{m s}^{-1} $ to $15 \, \text{m s}^{-1} $ in 6 seconds. What is it's acceleration.
